Henry Dunant HC once again offers its patients and visitors an alternative view of its operation and social role with a new artistic intervention in the hospital, with paintings and small sculptures by the distinguished Greek artist Andreas Golfinopoulos.
Having studied under Nikos Nikolaou and Yannis Moralis, Andreas Golfinopoulos, the “Platonist” painter, as he has been called, has put his stamp on visual arts in our country, which art is not limited to painting, but also leaves a distinct impression on microsculpture and ceramics. His works exude personal experiences, are inspired by natural space and highlight the Greek landscape.
Andreas Golfinopoulos’ journey is presented in the exhibition at Henry Dunant through selected works from his portfolios: 2005 - 2015 Portraits of the Sky, 2015 - 2020 Myth of the Mermaid, 2022 - 2024 Summertime.
The opening of the exhibition will take place on Monday 13 May (at 13:00) at the hospital auditorium. The exhibits will be presented by the Art Historian Dr. Megaklis Rogkakos, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Henry Dunant, Themos Charamis, as well as the painter Andreas Golfinopoulos. Excerpts will be read by Alekos Kritselis, Dean at the School of Fine Arts of PCC College, Los Angeles.
The works of Andreas Golfinopoulos will be exhibited in the lobby of the hospital for the next month, with free public access and observance of the prescribed security measures.
