The preoperative department is the patients’ first contact with the hospital’s comprehensive medical care. Following the latest medical guidelines worldwide, the patient’s overall and cardiac health are assessed in view of every possible surgical intervention, in a quick and efficient service.

Activities
Upon the patient’s arrival patient undergoes:
- Blood collection for biochemical and haematological testing.
- EKG, blood pressure and vital signs measurement.
- Cardiological clinical examination, assessment, and where appropriate, further diagnostic testing is immediately scheduled.
The above are recorded and follow the patient during his/her stay in the hospital.
