Henry Dunant Hospital aims to create a scientific tradition and to highlight all the latest scientific developments and innovations in the field of Medicine, by hosting the 1st Multidisciplinary Panhellenic Conference on “Bridging the Levels of Care”.
The topics shall include all the latest news on health problems, such as metabolic syndrome, diabetes mellitus, the “epidemic” of chronic kidney disease, infections with and beyond COVID-19, the necessity of a geriatric approach to elderly patients, the interpretation of autoantibodies in immunology, as well as gastrointestinal, endocrinological and neurological issues.
Innovative therapeutic methods applied in the field of cardiology, especially electrophysiology/pacing, interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery will also be presented.
Particular reference will be made to the impressive developments in the surgical treatment of many diseases with minimally invasive techniques.
Emphasis will be placed on nutrition and its importance for the rapid recovery of surgical patients, on the latest developments in orthopaedic surgery, and on the modern treatment of back pain, while modern diagnostic imaging techniques now constitute a key axis of surgical development.
At the same time, a large part of the conference will be dedicated to medical and surgical oncology, which is evolving impressively worldwide, but also in our country.
The developments in various areas of oncology will be discussed, and there will also be an open discussion with representatives from Patient Associations, psychologists, oncologists and caregivers, in order to highlight the concerns, modern practices, solutions as well as the future goals of oncology in Greece.
The conference will highlight the importance and necessity of nursing in the wider health sector, a reality that was noticed years ago and is implemented for a long time in the hospital.
“The 1st Multidisciplinary Panhellenic Conference “Bridging the levels of care” will not just confirm a return to normality for the Henry Dunant Hospital Center after the two years of the pandemic crisis. In reality, it represents a larger goal for the entire family of the Hospital, as we look forward to creating our own tradition by highlighting all the latest scientific developments and innovations in the field of medicine. Through its rich variety of topics, we also emphasize the daily medical activity evaluated by each patient, as well as the synergies of specialties and the interdisciplinary treatment of each case, through personalized Medicine, which ultimately guarantees the provision of high-quality and reliable health services.” Themos Charamis, President and CEO of Henry Dunant Hospital Center.
“In this conference we will try to discuss the most important medical issues concerning Medicine today while highlighting the innovative and effective, diagnostic and therapeutic approaches implemented at our hospital.
Having, hopefully, put the difficult period of the pandemic behind us, we feel the need to communicate with the scientific community and our patients. During that period we have all been tested; first and foremost our hospital, which helped significantly with the crisis with its substantial contribution to the functioning of our country’s health system when it had reached its limits.
Today, we envisage the future role of the largest private hospital in our country through the integration of the latest scientific developments in our daily clinical practice, developments that will be presented in detail at our conference,” stressed Mr. Georgios Andrikopoulos, Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, Director of the 1st Clinic of Cardiology - Electrophysiology and Pacing of the Henry Dunant Hospital Center.
The conference, which will be held on 23-25 September at the Divani Caravel Hotel in Athens, is addressed to healthcare professionals of all levels throughout the country. The team of HDHC aspires to establish this conference as one of the main scientific events in Greece.
