Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias, visited “Henry Dunant” on the night of Wednesday, March 24, when the hospital was on duty together with the NHS and the military hospitals.
After his visit, the Health Minister and the President & CEO of “Henry Dunant”, Themos Charamis made the following statements:
V.KIKILIAS: “For one more night, doctors, nurses and all the staff are in our hospitals, doing their duty with self-denial. I can not think of a more patriotic way for these people to show their respect for the country in view of the celebrations for the 200th anniversary (of Greek Independence).
For the first time in the history of the National Health System, the NHS hospitals are on duty together with the private hospitals, as “Henry Dunant” is today, and the military Hospitals, such as the 251 General Airforce Hospital and the NIMTS. Thank you all for the tremendous effort you put into it.
I talked to each and everyone of the relatives and patients who were waiting at the hospital, and the behavior, professionalism and contribution of medical science towards these people are exemplary.
So we will all continue together as one National Health System —public hospitals, private hospitals, military hospitals, NHS doctors, private doctors —with strength, faith and determination, and I am convinced that we will succeed ".
Th. CHARAMIS: “Thank you, Minister, for your visit and for the honor you are doing us tonight that we are on duty. “Henry Dunant” is living an unprecedented process, participating in the NHS on-duty services. “All our staff and doctors are here giving their best, and I think that with our small forces we will also contribute to overcoming this difficulty caused by the pandemic”.
