It offers diagnosis, counseling and treatment to all diseases related to internal medicine. At the same time, with its educational activity, the clinic updates and educates the Center’s medical staff regarding the principles, cases and the ways to treat internal medicine diseases. Moreover, with the establishment of a Geographic and Tropical Island Medicine Unit the department treats diseases of people traveling abroad as well as a range of tropical diseases.

Internal Medicine

Emphasizes on managing and treating cases in the following fields:

• infections (community-acquired, hospital-acquired, surgical, diabetic foot)
• diabetes mellitus
• hypertension
• gastrointestinal diseases
• hematologic diseases
• cardiac failure
• autoimmune diseases (vasculitis, rheumatism, etc.).

Geographic and Tropical Island Medicine Clinic

It focuses on the following areas:

• travelers’ diseases
• assessment before and after the trip
• treatment of diseases, such as malaria, post-travel fever, rickettsiosis, chronic diarrhea, tuberculosis

Diagnosis and interventional examinations

Counseling and Prevention

• For patients with diabetes - hypertension
• For the Center’s infectious cases under other specialties – for travelers

Internal Clinical Training

The Henry Dunant Hospital Center’s physicians receive training on a daily and weekly basis. This training maintains, upgrades and updates physicians’ skills resulting in the reinforcement of the consistent and in-depth management and treatment of all Internal Medicine cases.
