With the aim of highlighting the critical role of nurses in a modern healthcare system, the IMITHEA Group, in the first joint initiative of its hospitals and clinics, is organizing the 1st Scientific Nursing Conference of Private Healthcare, entitled “Excellence in Healthcare through Innovation in Everyday Practice.”. The Conference will take place on 29 and 30 November 2025 in Thessaloniki, at the Event Hall of Genesis General Clinic in Pylaia.
This is one of the largest conferences dedicated to the advancement of nursing science ever organized in Northern Greece. Participation is free of charge, and the event brings together the entire IMITHEA Group network. The Conference is held under the auspices of the Hellenic Nurses Association (ENE), the National Nurses Association of Greece (ΕΣΝΕ), the Region of Central Macedonia, and the Municipality of Pylaia–Hortiatis. Participants will be awarded ten (10) Continuing Nursing Education credits by the Hellenic Nurses Association.
The scientific program has been carefully designed to address a broad range of contemporary challenges in nursing science, through presentations by distinguished members of the academic community and experienced healthcare professionals. Topics range from lifelong learning and digital technology to patient safety and crisis management, from quality improvement strategies to modern approaches in midwifery care. Each thematic session has been selected to respond to the real needs of everyday clinical practice.
At the opening of the Conference, welcoming addresses will be delivered, among others, by the Governor of the Region of Central Macedonia, Ms. Athina Athanasiadou–Aidona, the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Mr. Stelios Angeloudis, the Mayor of Pylaia–Hortiatis, Mr. Ignatios Kaitetzidis, the Metropolitan of the Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki, Philotheos, the Rector of the International Hellenic University, Mr. Stamatios Angelopoulos, the President of the Thessaloniki Medical Association, Mr. Nikolaos Nitsas, and the CEO of IMITHEA Medical Group, Mr. Nikolaos Papadimitriou.
“The rapid evolution of technology, new therapeutic approaches, and the continuously growing needs of patients call on us to redefine our role and seek innovative solutions that respond to today’s challenges. Excellence is not an abstract concept—it is our daily commitment to every patient who entrusts their health to our care. Innovation is not the privilege of research centers; it is the application of new approaches in care delivery, the adaptability we demonstrate every day, and our ongoing commitment to education,” emphasizes the President of the Conference and Director of Nursing Services at Henry Dunant Hospital Center, Ms. Olga Dalingarou, setting the tone for this major gathering of nurses in Thessaloniki.
It is noted that the IMITHEA Group operates a strong healthcare network comprising six General Clinics—Henry Dunant Hospital in Athens, Kyanous Stavros General Clinic and Genesis Clinic in Thessaloniki, Dodecanese General Clinic in Rhodes, and Zoodochos Pigi General Clinic in Kozani—along with a state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Center (Arogi, in Pylaia, Thessaloniki) and a pioneering Assisted Reproduction Unit (IVF Fertilia, in Thessaloniki). Together, these facilities form one of the fastest-growing pillars of private healthcare in Greece. The Group has a total capacity of 1,360 inpatient beds, collaborates with more than 3,300 physicians across all specialties, and serves over 600,000 patients annually.
