The Henry Dunant Hospital Center actively participated in the BrainReGain Annual Conference, successfully held at the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron) on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. Held under the auspices of SEV (Hellenic Federation of Enterprises) and ACEO (EASE) (Hellenic Association of Chief Executive Officers), the conference focused on the repatriation of Greeks living abroad, highlighting Greece as an attractive option for the return of human resources from the diaspora.
As one of the gold sponsors of the event, the Henry Dunant reaffirmed its strategic commitment to strengthening Greece's medical workforce, supporting initiatives that encourage the return and reintegration of highly skilled Greek professionals in the healthcare sector.
During the conference, Mr. Themos Charamis, CEO of the Henry Dunant Hospital Center, took part in a panel discussion, where he highlighted the importance of taking action to fill specialized roles in healthcare. Mr. Charamis emphasized that the Hospital consciously and actively supports the BrainReGain initiative, noting that in recent years there has been a significant shortage of skilled professionals across all areas of healthcare. At the same time, however, working conditions have markedly improved, both in terms of infrastructure and in the quality of healthcare services provided.
Mr. Dimitris Bolovis, Director of the 2nd Gynecology Clinic at the Henry Dunant Hospital Center, shared his personal experience as a repatriated physician, shedding light on the challenges and opportunities faced by Greek doctors returning from abroad. He emphasized his smooth transition into the environment of Henry Dunant, which he described as being on par with renowned hospitals abroad, while stressing the importance of establishing a supportive framework to facilitate the reintegration of repatriated health professionals.
In this context, Henry Dunant, one of 640 hospitals worldwide accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI), confirms its international outlook through collaborations with leading academic and research institutions abroad, such as Charles University in the Czech Republic.
The hospital’s participation in the BrainReGain 2025 conference underlines its ongoing commitment to actively contribute to the upgrading of the Greek healthcare system by investing in human resources and strengthening collaborations with Greek professionals abroad.
