The innovative cryoablation method that is applied for the first time in Greece at Henry Dunant Hospital Center provides new routes for the effective treatment of atrial fibrillation.

It is an intervention applied for the treatment of atrial fibrillation that incorporates the most advanced cryoablation system which is used in a small number of electrophysiology centers in Europe. The new system has already being applied with absolute success in ablation interventions by the department of Electrophysiology and Pacemakers of Henry Dunant Hospital Center’s 1st Cardiology Clinic, marking the future of invasive ablation.

The innovative system allows the best unblocking of occluded pulmonary veins, as well as their most effective, faster and safer isolation, which is the goal of the invasive procedure.

“The introduction of this new cryoablation system expands our therapeutic options in the treatment of atrial fibrillation, offering the possibility to perform these operations in a very short time (less than 60 minutes) and with maximum safety, while at the same time the best application of the system in the pulmonary veins increases the efficiency of the method”, points out Mr. Georgios Andrikopoulos, the director of Henry Dunant Hospital Center’s 1st Cardiology Clinic.

Henry Dunant Hospital Center’s Department of Electrophysiology, aiming at the continuous improvement of the services provided and focusing especially on the treatment of atrial fibrillation, has included the innovative system in the treatment of patients undergoing invasive treatment for atrial fibrillation.
