The 2nd ENT Clinic of the Henry Dunant Hospital Center is a fully equipped, modern and scientifically sound unit of medical services. The specialized and qualified medical staff provides high quality diagnostic and therapeutic services on the entire spectrum of otorhinolaryngology.

More specifically, in the 2nd ENT Clinic, emphasis is placed on the diagnosis and treatment of the entire spectrum of head and neck, nose and paranasal sinuses conditions and diseases of the ear.

Activities

When conservative - drug treatment is not enough and operation is required, the doctors of the department offer surgical treatment, in accordance with the latest recommendations and guidelines of medical science.

Specifically, operations are performed for:

  • General nose and sinus problems such as deviation of the nasal septum, inferior turbinate hypertrophy (correction by conchoplasty or by using radiofrequency) and functional rhinoplasty
  • Nasal and paranasal pathologies, such as removal of nasal polyps, treatment of acute and chronic sinusitis, removal of benign tumors, dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR)
  • Pathologies of the pharynx and oral cavity, such as tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, epiglottoplasty
  • Benign and malignant diseases of the larynx (microlaryngoscopy using CO2 laser where indicated)
  • Diseases of the salivary glands, such as parotidectomies after preparation of the facial nerve (check using a neurostimulator) and submandibulectomy
  • Thyroid gland diseases (thyroidectomy with preparation of the lower laryngeal nerves controlled by neurostimulator)
  • Benign and malignant diseases of the neck, such as branchial cysts, thyroglossal duct cysts, tracheostomy, lymphadenectomy, laryngectomy

 Chronic otitis media (with or without cholesteatoma), such as mastoidectomy and tympanoplasty

Equipment

  • State-of-the-art rigid and flexible endoscopes for outpatient diagnosis, monitoring and surgical treatment.
  • High-definition cameras and monitors.
  • Use of neuro navigator.
  • Use of CO2 laser and radiofrequency.

Using such technological equipment in operative endoscopic surgery of the paranasal sinuses reduces time of hospitalization and postoperative scars as there are no external incisions.
