Diet & Nutrition

Emphasis is placed on the individual nutritional needs of each patient. A healthy, balanced diet constitutes the foundation for each patient. Equally important is the quality of the raw materials we use, as well as, the safe managing of food. For this reason, we adhere to a Food Safety Management System in accordance with ISO 22000 international standards for the Food Department facilities. Patients’ nutritional requirements are defined by their treating physician and based on those individual requirements, the department of nutrition and Dietetics determines their meal plan. Depending on the clinical condition of each patient, there may be restrictions or changes to their diet or meal plan as to ensure they receive the most appropriate nutritional intake. The department dietitians are at the disposal of our patients, as to discuss and draft a menu, which also takes into account particular patient meal preferences. In these cases, the treating physician is always informed and consulted regarding meal changes made.
